AFSA is sponsoring the provision of this program to ASD families and is covering all costs associated with presenting each program – venue, catering and materials as well as any additional costs incurred by families to enable them to attend the program, especially care and travel costs.

The Course Aims:
This course is designed to assist parents/families of people with disability to get updated on the many changes in the disability services area. It can also assist to build on current circumstances and provide options to explore:
• Planning – for now & the future
• Individual funding & support
• Their rights & their family member’s rights under
the new Disability Act

The AFSA committee have discovered an excellent program for families with a child, teenager or adult on the spectrum that will provide you with all the information and skills required to plan for the future. “Keys to Success – Families as Planning Partners” has been developed by VALID, the Victorian Advocacy League for Individuals with Disability, who have a team of parents and advocates trained to present the program. Dear Minister
On 15 April 2010, the then Federal Minister for Education, the Hon Julia Gillard MP, initiated a review of funding arrangements for schooling to develop a funding system which is transparent, fair, financially sustainable and effective in promoting excellent educational outcomes for all Australian students.
