New Survey- Has anything changed ?
Well we won the battle to have Autism and Autism Spectrum Disorders recognised as a neurological impairment under the Disability Act 2006, so that members of our community can now ‘ask’ for a service.
But has the change made any real difference? Since then (December 2008) we have been keeping an eye on the situation to see how easy or hard it is to actually access disability services since the change.
This survey has been developed in response to parents who have tried to access disability services only to be told they have to wait up to 6 months for a target group assessment.
